The Volunteer Action Group, led by Celia Rose, conducts periodic clean ups of the Parish, tackling jobs that need more than one person at a time. This complements the weekly work by our new Parish Gardener.

Drain outside Butcher's Arms

Activities include mainly battling unwanted foliage and litter and clearing drains, such as this one above outside the Butcher's Arms. Volunteers bring their own tools and protective clothing and take responsibility for removing foliage and debris.

We will update this page with the activities as scheduled. We are aiming to keep the village as chemical free as possible, and to retain the lovely wildflowers that are present, in order to maximise biodiversity and encourage insects.

The last activity was on Saturday 25 May 2019 when five people worked for about an hour and a half. The schedule of works and risk assessment can be found here.

The Parish's environment comprises both the Natural Environment and the Built Environment. The Natural Environment and Diversity Group have a page here, and the rationale behind this is in our Neighbourhood Plan

If you spot something that needs attention please please ask us, but this should be requested through the Parish Council - contact Sharon Raggett or any Parish Councillor because this might be better tackled by the weekly village gardener.
